Playful Provocations are interactions that engage community members while extracting meaningful design insights. These insights obtained from a diverse public sampling can be analyzed and organized into highly valuable data for designers.
Playful Provocations are part of an effort to activate currents of engagement to enable community-informed design for public space.
It is my goal that Playful Provocations might be utilized by other designers, artists and community leaders to gain important insights about what local residents want to see and feel in their neighborhoods. To this end, I have created an open source worksheet sharing methods, materials, and tips for successful public design interactions.
